Kate Middleton Diagnosed With Cancer

Kate Middleton has broken her silence

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful; however, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,”

She did not confirm the type of cancer.

her condition was originally thought to be non-cancerous, cancer was found in her system following abdominal surgery and she is now in the “early stages” of preventative chemotherapy.

Depending on the type of cancer, studies have shown that giving "anywhere from three to six months of chemotherapy after surgery can significantly reduce the risk of cancer coming back,” says Dr. Jeremy Jones, interim chair of the division of hematology and oncology at the Mayo Clinic, who also has no personal knowledge of Kate's case.

Kate's health and well-being have been the subject of speculation since she virtually disappeared from public view in late December.
